Food, vegetables, fruits and spices are offered in different sections, at the Kad Luang indoor market, the same concept of diversity applies, although it's mainly Thai. Let's say Northern style: pork rinds or in Thai "Kaeb Moo" and other yummy stuff from different regions are offerd in abundance. There is a section where different herbs are sold, some of them are imported from India. Spicy stuff!
One of my favorite spots of Kad Luang is the flower section which is along Wang Sing Kham road, the flower market is open till late at night. There are all kinds of flowers. It is also a photographer's paradise because the vivid colors are just amazing.
Kad Luang is a great place to go shopping, the colors and tastes it has to offer are worth a visit.
Kad Luang or Warrarot market covers the area between Sing Kham road, along the Mae Ping river, and Muang Samut road. For more Information please check www. chiangmai-maps.com.
Kad: means market in northern Thai.
Talad: means market in central Thai.
Kad Luang is the name northern people use and Warrarot market is the central Thai name for the market.

I like to go shopping at Kad Luang especially for fabric. My last visit to Kad Luang was last week, I bought ผ้าซิ่นตีนจก Northern Skirt with tradditional weaving style. It is being made to a skirt which I will wear it during Song Kran. Kad Luang is always busy with buyer and vendor, but it is a charm of Kad Luang. There are many choices of products; tradditional to trendy styles. I prefer to shop at Lao Cho alley where there are many ready to wear silk and cotton shops at a very reasonable price (compared to other places in Chiang Mai!!!)
I also like Kad Luang at night especially at flowers market where I can buy a bunch of roses at 50 Baht and a bunch of lilly for 20 Baht.
I really like Kad Luang I like to go to there with my mother since I was young and I still like to go there now.

I usually go to Kad Luang in the evening, looking for my dinner stuff. When I was student, I amd my friends liked to go to have Nam Khaew (a kind of nothern noodle) at there. Was it dilicious?...Amm I would confest that it neutral...just like the other places Nam khaew but it's cheap. What we liked the most is the atmosphere of Kad Luang. In the evening , we sat having a Nam khaew looking out to the road where the light of the food stand shining on crowded people who walked like a current of river looking for a goods around the river bank...

Kad Luang is one of my favourite places that I would like to visit. There are a great variety of goods to shop there. I can find almost everything that I want to buy and also I can ask for a discount.(^^) When I go there, I often buy clothes, accessories, fruits and flowers. Here there are also various kinds of northern food, snacks and Thai candies. Especially, when I was a trainee student in Chiangmai, I often went there to buy sticky rice with deep-fried pork for dinner and buy 'Karamae' (Thai candies) as a gift to my Lampang friends. So I have fun whenever I visit Kad Luang. (*-*)

I like to go shopping at Kad Luang at night(it's not too hot) to buy clothes and accessories which are quite diverse and especially the price is very cheap! Also, I like to buy the food there such as Khow Nheaw & Moo Ping(ข้าวเหนียวหมูปิ้ง), Som Tum including fruits and northern food that is very delicious.
I agree with P’Noi that a charm of Kad Luang is that it is always busy with buyer and vendor, and with this reason that made Kad Luang became a jolly market for the shoppers.
