Chiang Mai is my most favorite place in Thailand. I like culture, weather and food here. There are many things to do in Chiang Mai such as jungle trekking, bird watching or sight seeing tour. For those who are not adventure type, Chiang Mai is also known as paradise for shopper silk, cotton, silver, celadon and wood craving are very famous here. I would recommend Wua Lai Road for silver ware and accessories, Sankhampaeng Road for silk and celadon and Baan Tawai Craft Village for wood craving products and cotton.
Food in Chiang Mai is very good and cheap. Street food such as noodle soup or fried rice or Pad Thai is cost only 20-30 Baht. But for those who have sensitive stomach, street food is not recommended. However, food in the café and restaurant is not expensive either, but depends on where you are. Dining out at fine restaurant would cost approx. 500 – 1,000 Baht per person including a glass of wine.
Accommodation in Chiang Mai is available from bed & breakfast guesthouse, home stay to five stars hotel depending on your budget.
If you are planning to visit Chiang Mai and if you need any recommendation for accommodation, what to do or where to eat please feel free to let me know by posting a comment. I would love to answer your question.

I’ve just moved to live in Chiangmai for half a year. I found that Chiangmai is a nice city. There are many beautiful places to travel and my favourite place is Doi Suthep. This temple is so beautiful and full of Lanna culture. Moreover, I enjoy many kinds of food here (delicious and cheap). Chiangmai people are also kind and friendly and I feel very impressive. Everything about Chiangmai in my point of view is quite positive except for the traffic congestion. I’ve recently noticed that the traffic is very jammed like Bangkok. People here prefer to use their own cars and motorcycles to public transportation. I don’t want Chiangmai to be like Bangkok full of air-polluted and sound-polluted problems. It would be a good idea if people rode more bikes and used public buses.
The hot season
I like the hot season because Chiang Mai again belongs to the people who live here. In the cold season Chiang Mai is full of toursits and cars. Now the streets are ours again. Of course, it wouldn't suggest to cruise the roads of Chiang Mai in the hot afternoon sun, but in the morning and in the evening it is quite nice to go for a ride.
What is paritcular nice in the hot season are the blossoms on the trees all over Chiang Mai, along the moat, on campus of CMU, on the way up to Doi Suthep and along the roads. Bougainvilleas (Fuang Fha)are presenting themselves in all their vivid colors.
Chiang Mai offers beauty even in it's hottest and driest months.

Let's talk more about weather in Chaing Mai. I think many Thai people think that Chiang Mai is one of a "good climate" provinces in Thailand, especially in the cold winter time, since Chiang Mai located in the northern part of Thailand. However, I personally do like Chiang Mai in rainny season. The season that all the trees on the mountain are green. the season that I always smell the earth. the season that makes things go slow.
I love to see life & nature going on with rain...I love Chiang Mai in rain.

Chiang Mai is the capital city of nothern Thailand. Here, where the combination of "city" "culture" and "nature" can be seen.
The inner city, which surrounded by the moat, there are many temples located. And around the inner city, there are numbers of shopping centers and malls. Not far from the city, spend a few minutes to the west of the city , you can reach to the nature at Doi Suthep (Suthep mountain) or take off in other directions to feel the country side.
